Job Description
Cardinal State, LLC is seeking persons interested in a natural resources career as a Landscape Construction Project Manager. Cardinal State, LLC provides a full array of landscape construction, stream and shoreline restoration, ecological restoration, and green infrastructure services to clients in the private and public sectors throughout the greater Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin area. The right candidate for this position will be expected to plan, schedule, and implement the full scope of landscape construction projects from contract to close-out. These activities must result in compliance with contract specifications, budgets, client expectations, and Cardinal State's safety policies and culture.
Responsibilities:
Managing overall project budgets
Procurement of materials and equipment
Managing construction schedules and subcontractors throughout the duration of projects
Working with Operations Manager and other Project Managers for staffing needs
Overseeing paver and retaining wall installation, placement of natural stone, placement of topsoil/planting soil, ornamental planting, sodding, mulching, establishment maintenance and/or any other activities necessary for the implementation of landscape construction projects
Overseeing grading, placement of instream rock and wood structures, bank stabilization, native planting, seeding, erosion control installation, mowing, herbicide application and/or any other activities necessary for the implementation of ecological restoration projects
Managing and directing construction superintendents and construction crew members in the field
Conducting and attending preconstruction meetings, progress meetings, and other meetings as needed with clients and staff
Conducting administrative duties such as producing project schedules, work plans, schedule of values, pay applications, waivers, RFI’s, change orders and construction reports as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in biology, botany, ecology, conservation, environmental science, or related fields
Minimum 3 years of experience in the landscape construction or ecological restoration industries
Wetland and stream mitigation/restoration experience
Knowledge of environmental/ecological field restoration techniques
Ability to operate survey equipment as necessary
Ability to use construction industry software (Bluebeam, ArcGIS, Foundations, etc.)
Professional licenses or certifications are a plus
